A Cooperative Project with
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

In May 2004, the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) awarded the Michigan State University Data Coordinating Center (MSU-DCC) to serve as a data coordinating center for multicenter studies to support surveillance data, and research data management related to Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Developmental Disabilities. Dr M.H. Rahbar, Director of MSU-DCC and Professor of Epidemiology, serves as the Principal Investigator on this cooperative agreement.

The MSU-DCC in partnership with the Radiology Research Engineering Division will coordinate and facilitate data management activities across the research sites. MSU-DCC takes the lead role in coordination of this project and will be responsible for central data collection, quality control, management, and statistical design and analysis of the data. The MSU-DCC in partnership with the Radiology Research Engineering Division will design, develop, and implement a centralized secure web-based information system delivering secure subject tracking, data collection instruments and services, data quality assurance systems, and will provide secure linkage to the biosample repository (>200,000 samples).
